The Word of God

When Jesus said in Matthew 4.4 that we don’t live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God, He didn’t just mean that we need to immerse ourselves in the Scriptures, although that’s certainly true.  Hebrews 1.3 says that God upholds the universe by the word of His power.  That means you and I, too.  We literally need God every hour, every minute, every second.  If God stopped speaking, we would stop living.  He is so gracious to us.

The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. The Lord is good to all, and His mercy is over all that He has made. ~ Psalm 145.8-9

About Joe Eaton

I praise God that my standing before Him has nothing to do with who I am or what I've done; it is found solely in the perfect life that Christ lived in my place, and His which atoned for my sin. "For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that IN HIM we might become the righteousness of God"..."There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."
